At the age of 19, she debuted her debut single Here. The single was a hit and received praise from the public and from critics. The single peaked at 19th among both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's most memorable Songs. That year she also released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five songs she wrote that made it to the Billboard charts. The song is unique as there were many who reacted to the interview she conducted with the rapper Rap-Up on her journey to find love and admit to her. Cara is known for including messages about mental health kindness and self-love into her music. Her music is an expression of her own struggles with insomnia and mental health. In a recent interview with Reuters the magazine, she declared her album "half chaotic" as well as "half finished". She says she grew through therapy, and urges others to seek help as needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. When she was just 10 years older, her parents bought her a guitar. This was the beginning of her musical passion. She began to cover her favourite songs at age 13, to show everyone that she was a singer with the skills and the courage needed to sing. The cover she did, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her famous. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and write her own songs.
